Casa Juriquilla emerges from the tranquil landscape north of Querétaro, a residence that embodies Mexico's cultural richness through a contemporary lens. Designed by Estudio Mero, the structure is articulated around the concept of the courtyard—a space where lush vegetation and the warmth of daily life converge.

Spanning 350 $m^2$ across two levels, Casa Juriquilla’s terracotta walls embrace the essence of its surroundings. Situated within a charming neighborhood of white houses, the residence adapts to the site's topography: its step-levels follow the natural slope of the Querétaro steppe.

Inside, expansive windows illuminate the central courtyard, offering glimpses of the open sky. This space, accessed through sliding aluminum and clear glass panels, serves as a central gathering point and facilitates cross-ventilation throughout the home.

Ochre stone stairs lead to the second floor, which houses the primary bedroom. The residence also features a private studio and a terrace with a den, providing views of the garden’s greenery and the pool.

Curated across six distinct zones, the Mexican furniture in Juriquilla blends elegance with tradition. The clay-colored brickwork creates a fresh atmosphere that enters into a dialogue with the region's traditional craftsmanship.

A highlight of the project is the integration of passive sustainable technologies, including rainwater harvesting and treatment systems, as well as photovoltaic panels. Every detail of Casa Juriquilla evokes harmony and a profound connection with nature.
